Two people standing in Red Square in 1996.  The walls of the Kremlin and Lenin's tomb were in the background, and a light rain was falling. The USSR had not long broken up, and there was plenty of poverty then.  I remember the GUM store was full of empty counters, or counters selling secondhand items.
