Matlock Bath Illuminations features an amazing spectacle of illuminated and decorated boats along the River Derwent in Matlock Bath, Derbyshire, close to the Peak District National Park.  Matlock Bath Venetian Boat Builders' Association decorates themed models with brightly coloured lights, which then are mounted on rowing boats and paraded on the River Derwent on weekends in September and October.  I didn’t attend but a friend of mine did and took the photograph from which this painting has been created.  It looks such fun that I am tempted to go myself this year!
