Every year for as long as I can remember I have made my own Christmas cards, and recently I have started doing a painting for each year's new card. Last year's was the snow-clad German castle, also in this gallery. This year's started out as a star, then I put me in the middle, but it looked so serious that I curled up my moustaches in Daliesque fashion. The white "snow" blobs are impasto - they project.
