| These three young ballerinas
were painted in Germany. They are preparing to dance and will be assessed on their
performance, hence the signs of nervousness which are evident in different ways. The
austerity of the practice hall is emphasized by the old-fashioned concertina radiator on
the wall, and the practice bars divide the picture into two, top and bottom. |
