Framed in wood which is coloured with green stain allowing the grain to show through
Giverny in France is the perfectly preserved residence of Claude Monet, where he lived from 1883 until his death in 1926.  Most famous of the gardens at Giverny are the waterlily ponds, over which the much-painted Japanese-styled bridges throw their viridian reflections.  It is very hard to see, but if you look at this picture upside down (yes, really!) you can just about spot the reflection of one of Monet's green-painted wooden bridges, near the patch of waterlilies.
